Monthly retainer options

If you need a fractional General Counsel, or a senior tech lawyer to join an established legal team as an extra pair of hands, for a monthly fixed-fee I can provide the following capacity guarantees for clients at a substantially discounted rate:

🥈 ‘Silver’ retainer. 1 day per week. £6,480 plus VAT per month (= c. £180 plus VAT per hour)

🥇 ‘Gold’ retainer. 2 days per week. £9,995 plus VAT per month (= c. £140 plus VAT per hour)

These represent significant discounts to my standard hourly rate, which is £250 plus VAT, which itself is substantially less than the hourly rates of partners  in private practice law firms (in many instances now being c. £600+ plus VAT), so these retainer options represent excellent value for money for clients.

Moreover, purchasing a retainer provides you with certainty of cost and reserved time in my diary each week. It also has the benefit of locking in a preferential hourly rate for additional ad hoc work of **£200 plus VAT**.

What constitutes 1 or 2 days could be a number of half-days spread over the week - at times mutually agreed for maximum benefit to the client.

A retainer package can be an excellent option for a client not wanting to hire a full-time in-house lawyer, wanting expert advice without the law firm partner price tag, and who would benefit from a highly experienced in-house lawyer on a part-time basis.

Compared to employing someone, I work as an independent consultant and there are therefore no employment related costs (pension, holiday pay, national insurance, benefits, bonus, expenses), no dilution of equity in your company, no payroll admin, and great flexibility to scale up and down or switch off my services entirely at your convenience. Engaging me on retainer allows for this high level of flexibility whist ensuring that you get the benefit of my regular input and my practical, solutions-focused approach to help you achieve your business aims in a legally grounded way.
